Blogmas Day 24: The Last Blogmas! + December Favourites

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 24!

Can you believe that today is the last day of Blogmas?!
I hope that you guys have enjoyed reading all 24 Blogmas posts, and have been inspired to be creative with your outfits, make-up, and Christmas gift ideas.

I have been stuck for what to write for this post, I want it to be special because it is the last Blogmas, so to make this post super special, I have decided to write an extra long post including my December Favourites, and a list of my favourite Christmas movies.

December Favourites

1. BareMinerals Buxom Lipgloss in Isabella

I recently re-discovered this lipgloss and I am in love with it!
It is supposed to make your lips all plump, and it definitely does that - you can even feel it stinging your lips.
The colour is also super pretty and shimmery and I think that it is the perfect going out lipgloss.

2. BareMinerals 'Oil Control' Face Primer

I never used to use primer, but since I have oily skin I decided to try one out and I have never looked back.
Primer essentially keeps your make-up in place and your skin in check - I can't live without it!
I originally used the Revlon Photoready Primer, and it is a great product, but I prefer the BareMinerals Primer - I just feel that it works better on my skin.

3. Benefit Cosmetics High-Brow

I recently reviewed this product in a post, and can I just say that I absolutely LOVE this product. I have been using it everyday because it makes my eyebrows look ah-mazing!

4. SJP NYC Perfume

I received this perfume as a Christmas present 2 years ago, but didn't wear it that often.
I re-discovered it at the start of this month and have been wearing it everyday.
It smells so good and comes in the cutest bottle!

My Favourite Christmas Movies

1. Home Alone 1 & 2

I watch these movies every year with my family, and they are my all time favourite Christmas movies. I think that they are so funny and I can never get bored of watching them.

2. Elf

'Elf' is a great movie! I love all of the adventures that Elf (Will Ferrell) gets up to when he leaves the North Pole and goes to NYC. He has to adjust to another lifestyle, and it is hilarious.

3. The Christmas Dinosaur

My brother and I received this movie from the Santa at our local shopping centre when we were taking Santa photos - we were really young.
My brother and I have a tradition of watching it every year, and I think that it is such a cute movie.

Thank you to all my lovely readers who have read all 24 Blogmas posts. Thank you for your continued support, and I can't wait until next year so I can do Blogmas again! Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your holidays!

Carissa

Blogmas Day 9: Secret Santa Gift Ideas!

My Essential Face Make-Up Products and Product Reviews - Maybelline BB Cream, CoverGirl Invisible Concealer, and MORE!

After the long search for a great, inexpensive concealer, I have finally found one that works!
I love to experiment with make-up and I am always trying to achieve nice, clear, flawless skin, so it is no surprise that I have practically tried out every concealer on the planet. I have tried a variety from Maybelline including the Super Stay 24hrsConcealer, and the Fit Me Concealer. I must admit, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is pretty good, it has great coverage, and really good applicator that is great for targeting specific blemishes.I sometimes use this over my new concealer for really strong coverage. I can not say the same positive points about the Super Stay Concealer though as it was really thick, the applicator was too big and dispensed too much product, and it did not last for very long, let alone 24 hours.

So, let me get to the point. I recently purchased the CoverGirlInvisible Concealer after trying on almost every concealer in the store. I am the colour 'medium'.

The colour is perfect for my skin tone and it blends in great. The only issue that I have with this concealer is that you need to apply a large amount of it to really cover up a blemish. I do have a few pimples on my face that aren't very raised but they are quite red and I feel that this concealer works well to neutralise the redness. I normally use this concealer over my new Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream which effectively covers up all the redness of my pimples while still looking natural. I do have quite oily skin through my T-Zone, so the new BB cream with 2% Salicylic Acid is great to mattify my skin and dry out pimples (I also use a face wash with the same ingredient). I have tried many other BB and CC creams including the original Maybelline BB cream (Dream Fresh), and the L’Oreal Paris Nude MagiqueAnti – Redness CC cream but I decided to try out the new Maybelline BB cream because it was better suited to my skin needs. The Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Creamworked great. It evened out my skin tone, and covered up redness, but my skin would become quite oily by the end of the day – I love this product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an effective, inexpensive BB cream, it works great and that is why I love the Dream Pure BB cream is because it has the same look/effect but it is better suited to my skin type. The LO’real Paris Nude Magique Anti – Redness CC Cream looks great at the beginning of the day. It is green based which means it neutralises redness, and was extremely effective in covering up all redness and blemishes. It also gave my skin a nice dewy look (which I liked) but my skin became very oily early into the day and I did not like this.

If you have similar skin to mine and are looking for a fast, and effective make-up routine that will cover up oil and redness, I recommend using Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream as a base, then applying the CoverGirl Invisible Concealer on blemishes and finishing with a setting powder (it will keep your make-up in place for the day and prevent your skin from looking oily)

I hope that this review of face make-up products will help you to find effective products that will suit your skin needs and will work for you. I fully understand the difficulties of trying to find make-up that will cover up the redness of pimples and that make your face look good. Hopefully this post has helped you to discover a new product that you haven't tried before and that may become your holy grail in terms of face make-up.

Thanks for reading,
Carissa xx
